ALERT

Due to the overwhelming surge in COVID-19 cases and the strain it has placed on health care capacity in the communities we serve, the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare has activated crisis standards of care statewide. We are open and available to see patients, but you may experience delays at our ERs, hospitals, and clinics. We appreciate your patience. Access more info on COVID testing, vaccination, visitor policy, hospitalization data, and FAQs.

Our Junior Volunteer Program is for young men and women ages 14-18 who want to make a difference in their community through service at St. Luke’s. When you become a Junior Volunteer, you’ll gain valuable experience in a hospital environment, develop customer service and leadership skills, and learn to take on responsibility — all while interacting with patients, visitors, and staff.

Applications are available the first Monday in November, after 2 p.m., of each year. A limited number of applications are available and fill quickly.

The St. Luke's Junior Volunteer Program cannot successfully accommodate new volunteers past their junior year of high school due to limited time and opportunities.

Qualifications and Requirements

To be considered for membership in the Junior Volunteer Program, you must:

  • Be at least 14 years old at time of application
  • Have a minimum 3.0 grade point average (GPA)
  • Show proof of immunization for MMR, varicella, t-dap, t-spot, and have an annual current influenza vaccine
  • Display a professional attitude and behavior
  • Be trustworthy, dependable, and honest

How to Apply

Thank you for your interest in the St. Luke's Junior Volunteer Program. In the best interest of our volunteers, patients and staff, St. Luke's will be postponing applications to the Junior Volunteer Program at this time. We will re-evaluate the program needs in November 2021.
